Medtronic Begins Randomized Clinical Trial Called Protect

The trial aims to compare its drug-coated stent, Endeavor, and a stent made by Johnson & Johnson, called Cyper, using key safety measures including potentially fatal blood clots.

Medtronic Opens First TPTC in India

Medtronic, medical device maker, recently announced the opening of its first Therapy and Procedure Training Centre in India.

The Centre will provide hands-on training to cardiologists implanting devices for the management of life threatening cardiac problems like that of arrhythmias and coronary heart disease using a simulator-based virtual catheterization lab.

Medtronic, PETA in Agreement on Care of Test Animals

Medical Device Safety Act of 2008 is aimed at overturning a Supreme Court ruling granting medical device manufacturers immunity from product liability lawsuits.
