Category: About Sprint Fidelis Defibrillator Lead Lines

At least five deaths have been linked to defective leads and over 660 reports of injuries or malfunctions, to date.

If you have a Sprint Fidelis lead with your implanted defibrillator (you can locate your model number on your wallet card), you should consult with your medical doctor immediately.

If you have had no health problems thus far, you may not have any. Your doctor may be able to reprogram the device to make it more able to detect a fracture in the lead.

Investigations are ongoing but three things are clear:

1. Medtronic should not have put the leads on the market
2. Medtronic should have recalled the device faster
3. Medtronic, like all medical device manufacturers, fall under the legal theory known as strict liability, which means it falls on them to provide safe products.

For a free consultation with our Medtronic lawyer, please use the form located on the right.
