Medtronic has launched a new device for its sinus irrigation system that will make it easier for doctors to access hard-to-reach areas of the frontal sinus.

The new device works with Medtronic's Hydrodebrider System, an endoscopic system used to remove bacteria from the sinuses. Each handpiece delivers a rotating spray of pressurized saline to irrigate and remove bacteria from the sinuses.

Chronic sinusitis is defined as an inflammation of the tissues around the nasal passages for at least 12 consecutive weeks. An estimated 30 million U.S. adults suffer from chronic sinusitis.
