Medtronic Receives FDA Approval for Endeavor Zotarolimus-Eluting Coronary Stent System

Medtronic announced they have received approval from the FDA for its Endeavor Zotarolimus-Eluting Coronary Stent System to be used in the treatment of coronary artery disease (CAD).

CAD is the leading cause of death in the United States and affects nearly thirteen million people.

The stent has been under study for quite some time now and has been used in over 4,100 patients that had been monitored for up to 4 years. Medtronic is expected to being manufacturing these stents immediately and the first batch should be done within the next 30 days.
